The Basics of Roullete

Roullete

Roullete, also known as roulette, is a casino game that has long been one of the most popular table games around. You can find it in just about any casino that has table games, and its simple game play gives players an opportunity to win big prizes based on a truly random event.

Whether you’re playing online or in a live dealer casino, the basic rules of roulette are the same: Players make bets on specific numbers, groups of numbers or sections of the table map. Once the bets are placed, the croupier (dealer) throws a ball into a spinning wheel, and winners are paid out according to their betting odds. Losing bets are cleared from the table, and the process repeats.

There are many different variations of roulette, and players should choose the one that best suits their budget. The best choice is European roulette, as it features a single zero pocket and lower house edge, making it much easier for players to win.

The Street Bet/Three Number Bet/Side Bet/The Trio: Also known as a tiers bet in French, this wager involves placing your chip(s) to straddle the line between two numbers on the layout. This bet pays 17-1 if either number wins.

Outside Bets: These are placed on a group of numbers that aren’t red or black, odd or even, the first or last 18 on the table, or 0 and 00 on American roulette wheels. These bets offer even money payouts, but they have a lower chance of winning than inside bets.

Dozens Bet: Also called a douzaine in French, this bet is made by placing your chips on the first, second or third dozen section of the layout. If the ball lands in any of these groups, you’ll win 2-1.

Column Bet: Place your chip(s) in the numbered columns on the table to make this bet. If the ball stops in your wagered column, you’ll win.

The dealer will announce “no more bets” once the roulette ball has stopped bouncing around and has settled into one of the pockets marked with a number. Winners are then paid out and the losing bets are removed from the table. When you’re ready to make a new bet, remember to stick to your predetermined budget and avoid using any of your winnings for future bets.
